Two weekends we kept little Miss Ruby while her mommy and daddy had a weekend to themselves ;) I was glad to keep her and Jake was glad too! They had a big time.

Last week was pretty slow and we had a lot of down time at home. Just what we needed.  Jake has been teething and running a low grade fever, poor little guy. It doesn’t get him down though. He was still running wild and chasing Lola as usual. That boy has been making me laugh so much!!! It’s like he says something new every day and I don’t know where he gets it!!

All the “Halloween” stuff going on, tv shows, stores, décor, etc…. has Jake all excited. Last year he didn’t care. Finally he is starting to get into the “holidays” somewhat. Although he doesn’t understand what they mean or stand for, it’s still so cute. He is acting “scared” and telling me he is scared. Which is funny but it’s not. I put up a door hanger with scary pumpkins, ghosts, and cats. He tells me to take it down hahaha… but loves it too. He talks SO well but can’t say his S’s. So, he will say “momma is that cary (scary)”? “Momma I want a nack (snack)”.  I will tell him to pick out his books before bedtime and even though all the lights in the house are on, he knows it’s dark outside, so he will say “you go momma… I’m cared” LOL! I have no idea why is he “cared”… we don’t watch scary stuff or talk about monsters… I guess kids just pick up that stuff.
I love how Jake tells me what he is feeling. It doesn’t matter if he just got a spankin’, sad about a show, mad at his toys/friends, scared, etc. He always tells me what’s wrong when I ask and sometimes when I don’t ask ha! When he gets in trouble sometimes he will blow it off and keep playing, sometimes he will cry super hard. I will pick him up and talk like an adult (I can’t stand baby talk after a certain age…) and I will say “tell me what’s wrong and why you are crying” and he will say “Because…. I’m mad” (or sad). If I’m sad he will say “are you sad momma” with a concerned look on his face… so precious. Now that I’m thinking of it… he can say “sad”… but not “scared” I guess it’s the “sc”. I know this is a lot of random boring stuff to whoever may be reading – but I do this blog for myself as a diary somewhat. ;)

This past weekend we stayed home and never left! So nice. Our sweet friends came out Sat night and painted pumpkins and ate and had a fun, relaxing evening. Jake got to play with his buddies… he talked about them all day and was beside himself that they were coming over. Jake helped me make cupcakes and decorated them himself. He said “Bwrock and Colten eat cake momma.” What a sweet boy!

This is going to be a busy and fun week. Work, dinner with friends, & Halloween! Jake is stoked!

OKC Visit :)

On to day two of OKC! Jake and I went to the zoo with a sweet friend and her two kiddos. Her husband works with Josh and I had met her before at my house. So glad she was there and could hang out with us. Jake looooved her boys and played so well with them. He was such a GOOD little boy. I didn't take a stroller (he wouldn't have sat in it anyway) because I just threw some clothes in the car and left Tuesday morning and of course didn't grab my camera, UGH! After walking around that huge zoo all day, missing a nap, and sweating our booties off, he never made a peep. Never cried, never whined, never asked me to carry him. I did carry him though, towards then end of the day because I felt sorry for him haha! He kept saying "I wanna see the Elephants momma"! Poor little guy - the elephants were at the other end of the zoo and they were the last stop and he was too tired to care anymore :(

We ate a lot of good food! The first night we ate at a Mexican place by the river walk in Bricktown... delish!   For breakfast, Jake and I ate the buffet at the hotel.. holy geez it was good. Our favorite was the waffles topped with strawberries and whip cream :) We also ate at this amazing place called "Trapper's" (I think that was the name)... it was so so so so good.

Here are a few pics from our little adventure :)

Sweet little face

In a hurry to see everything haha!

Love this one of him and his little friends :)

Watching the seals swim... so cool!

Big ol' grizzly bear!

Bears!

haha this girl cracked me up! I think it's a girl? lol

The elephants... and you can barley see the sweet (not so little) baby!

SO tired and sweaty!

Got his second wind and ran...chasing the other boys.

Funny faces :)

We sent these to daddy while he was at work :)

My best ol' friend!

More zoo pics.. these are out of order...

Watching the train go through Bricktown from our hotel room... loved it here!

Back in Crawford Co! This baby was happy!

Ate his lunch, then stole mine.

Let's not forget Lola - who stayed with Darryl and was depressed to come home! HA! She loves him so much. She wouldn't come out of her crate (very unusual) poor girl.....

This blog is so scattered.. I'm at work and busy and blogging at the same time, my apologies!

I am keeping Ruby all weekend! CAN'T WAIT! Her momma is bringing her tonight! YAY! :)

Happy Weekend Friends!

Traveling Gypsies

When daddy goes out of town, I always say to Jake, we are traveling gypsies! We always hit up families houses for dinner and hang out with them so I don't have to go home and cook :) We already hit up Kikki's and aunt Heather's....and Tuesday I woke up and decided to just take a road trip and see daddy.

I was planning on coming out here by myself but it was just going to be too much chaos leaving Jake, so here we are, hanging out in OKC. We may hit up the zoo today while Josh is working. I'm really glad he came with me now...he had a blast last night. We took him to the little "river walk" (Bricktown) down from Josh's hotel...we took a boat rode and seen lots of ducks. Jake had fun. I do have to say on the drive out, he stayed awake the whole way talking and singing. Then as I was getting into nearly 5:00 traffic in OKC, Jake decides he would start crying and crying hysterically. Yep, he missed his nap and he was beyond tired. The hotel was a piece of cake to find but it is right beside the Chesapeake Arena and the "Thunders" were playing last night. So needless to say, trying to pull into the hotel was a nightmare and I had to get Josh's work guys to have them let me in! Craziness! I'm pulling into the parking deck and look and Jake and he has now passed out ha! I let him sleep about 20 minutes for a short power nap, hoping he would be good at dinner. He was, and ate more than me! That boy loves him some Mexican food :)

I forgot to post last week that we went to his 2 year checkup...all is good and he is a big (32 lbs), healthy, smart boy!

Well that's all I have, I think little man is awake now.... I'll post more pics later this week!
