My new little love...

Well.... Jake is here! He has been here for almost 2 months! LOL! Sorry I haven't blogged any! I barely have time to shower much less get on the computer! However; daddy is home today and I can update my blog!

Jake was born on Sept 15th at 1:12 p.m. He weighed 8.6 and was 20 1/2 in long! We are PROUD parents of a beautiful healthy baby boy! Jake Eli Johnson ~

Our first day home, we came home by ourselves! No one to help us b/c everyone got sick the day we brought our little man home! How crazy! My mom was sick and Josh's mom was sick. Sad deal. They were both so upset and didn't get to see Jake for almost a week or more! Josh and I decided it was for the best we were home alone though. We learned so much in just one week! I think we grew closer as husband and wife and as new parents in just that short time! I love my husband so much... he will never know! He has been such an amazing help to me and the most wonderful daddy I have ever seen! If I wasn't breastfeeding, I think Josh would have done everything! HA!

So time has gone by... and Jake is creeping up on his 2 month birthday. I want to cry! That means work is approaching faster and faster and Jake is growing in the blink of an eye! He is already weighing around 12 lbs! haha! He is a big boy! He is cooing, smiling, kicking like crazy, and more!

Today is his first Halloween! He is my little pumpkin! Daddy is making us deer steak and fresh fried eggs... so we are going to go eat now! Here are a few pics................

On our way home!

Last Day of Work!

Today was my last day of work before Jake arrives! I don't think it has hit me yet! 5 days at the most until we have a baby! There are so many emotions going through me - I can't even describe them! We have our last dr apt on Tuesday and we are setting up a time for induction on Wednesday (the due date!) I didn't want to be induced, but I told Dr if Jake isn't budging, then we can go ahead and schedule a time! ha! I'm very tired and ready for this little boy to be here. I will actually be a little over 40 weeks by Wed, so I think he has had plenty of time in momma's belly! No pictures today- short and sweet little post to keep you all updated.

28 Days and Counting......

We are SO ready to have this little guy - it's not even funny! Me for sure! Tired of being round, waddling, and not being able to breathe :) haha! Overall - this has been the best pregnancy I could ever ask for! No morning sickness, no problems, I am just very blessed. I was telling the guys at work today that I haven't even called in once in 8 months! (knock of wood)

So a couple weekends ago, my girls threw me another shower! Wow- what a great turn-out and soooo many gifts for baby Jake. (despite the heat - it was the best shower!) We are truly blessed with great friends and family. I am still getting gifts dropped off at work.... things we really need too! Diapers, bath stuff, etc. =)
Last Saturday my mom, step-mom, and mother-in-law came over to help me clean the house real good! We washed logs, ceilings, and baseboards! Having a log house makes for A LOT of dust! I couldn't reach it all, so they all came over to help! SO VERY NICE OF THEM! I wanted it nice and clean for Jake to come home to.
That's all for now - I have my 37 week check-up next week on the 25th. I will let you all know what the DR says! I'm hoping he's gonna say "you're going into labor early" haha! Wishful thinking!

Here are a few pics from the shower!

All the wonderful hostesses!
They did an amazing job!

Feelin' HOT~HOT~HOT

I mean, really? Could I have picked a worse time to be pregnant? =) This little momma is HOT... not the cute "hott", the sweaty hot! haha! WHEW! Disgusting hot!

Today I had my 34 week check-up. All is well, Jake's heart beat is strong and fast! Dr. M thinks he's around 4 1/2 lbs right now. He also told me he thinks I will carry to term. I know a lot of people "tell" me that I will probably be late since this is my first baby but for some reason I have this feeling he is going to come early. Dr Muylaert had to go and burst my bubble today! ha! I can wish right?! As of right now, I do not want to be induced. I can totally change my mind though! Ask me again in a few weeks! LOL! I may be screaming- take this child asap!

Last weekend, my beautiful aunts threw me my first baby shower. It was great! I am so beyond blessed to have so many loving family members to help us during this exciting time and share all the joys of a new baby! =) So here are a few pics of the shower.....

This coming weekend is my second shower that Sarah, Heather, and Christie are throwing me. I am super EXCITED about it! I can't wait to get everything else in Jake's room put away and ready for the little guy to get here! I washed his sheets last weekend that we got and put on the mattress and got the bed all set up! Yay! I will post pictures of the room when we are finally done with it!
Josh has just been working and trying to fix things around the house. It's so stinking hot though, he tries to stay in some too. Well, I make him. haha! He eats a lot of popsicles!!! That boy goes through a box a week!
Guess that's it for now! Stay cool everyone ;)

Sorry to my family for not posting a new blog lately! I know you were all wanting to see the latest on the room! So here are a few newer pics of Payton working on her "masterpiece" lol! AND the new dresser to match the bed! LOVE IT!

Beautiful!

Working on the owl!

She does a great job...

So, I posted some of these on facebook and Payton said that she's got some messages and phone calls from people wanting her to paint in their house. She said she is going to start on her own business, which I think is a GREAT idea! Hello!? This is the going thing right now.. and I told her I know so many pregnant gals who would love to have some art work done in their nursery as well! These wall murals go for lots of mula' $$$$!!!! She still has two quotes to paint and the growth chart! I can't wait! This girl is 16 and busy... so I will take her when I can! Haha!

Dad, Cathy, and Shae came up last night to see the room and visit. They brought pizza and dad helped Josh with some of the light switches in the room I wanted changed =) Poor dad, we thought all the breakers to the room were off, well the closet wasn't. He got bit.. and it scared me to death! Needless to say, we just shut the whole breaker box off now when we are working in there with wires and what-not!

Latest chicken news- we had 15 new baby chicks born on Wednesday! The same day as my mother-in-law's b-day! I mean, we have chickens everywhere! All different ages too! Our biggest ones are getting to venture out of the coop while we are home now, and they know exactly where to go when its "roosting" time! I think they are so funny! Last weekend we took a drive up past Natural Dam to look at some goats. I think we are going to buy a few and Josh said I could get their babies too. =) So the mommas a.k.a nannies and the kids will be coming! We just have to get the fence up first. These goats are going to help a lot with briers and brush we need cleared! ;) It's going to start looking like Old McDonald's farm around here! How fun will that be for Jake to grow up around!

YES.. Jake is the name we've settled on but most of you knew that already. I am still trying to pick a middle name. Goodness, naming a child is hard!

This was a short work week due to the holiday but let me tell ya, it was a LONG and HARD work week. We were slammed and had many of the "problem" customers. This prego girl was on her feet wayyyy too much and the end results = swelling! Yap, it's begun. Approx ~ 9 weeks left and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable and huge! I'm ready for this little angel baby to get here! SO GLAD it's the weekend again! Whew... I am resting all weekend! Probably going to do a little swimming and spending times with friends, but that is always relaxing to me!

Here are a few pics from the 4th of July weekend!

4th of July Dinner! DELISH!

Josh and I at Narissa's b-day and pre 4th party!

Last but not least, one of my best buds, Amanda Teff, has checked into the hospital tonight to be induced!!! This means that little Jake's buddy, Townsend Rae Teff will be here tomorrow sometime! I can NOT wait!!!!! I pray everything goes well for Amanda and she has a smooth delivery!

Happy weekend everyone!

*28 Weeks*

Today was our 28 week checkup... 7 MONTHS! Already? Wow, it's gone by fast! The next two months are going to fly by.... I go again in 3 weeks, then after that, every 2 weeks. That will really make time go by faster! Woohoo!!

Basically all he did today was listen to my little man's heartbeat. It sounded good and healthy. Dr said everything was A-OK! =) AND he said I could eat tuna! ha! I've been reading online where it is bad to eat tuna b/c of the mercury... he said thats silly and to eat it up! When I left he said "keep swimming and stretching, and ...enjoy your tuna!" LOL! That makes for one happy prego girl as I left!

Meanwhile, Amanda was in the room next to me... Dr M. told her she could be having Townsend in like 3 weeks! OMG! I can't wait! I was texting her while I was waiting on him to come in! haha!

Josh and I have been enjoying some FRESH garden veggies basically every single night. Thats about all we eat! Boiled new potatoes, boiled squash, salad, tomoatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, zuccini, etc! We could eat that and be fine with no meat! It's almost too hot to eat heavy anyway! OH and I can't forget the canalope and watertmaelon! Delish!!! YUM! I better get in there and start making dinner now!!

Well, how could I not mention the princess of the house, miss Lola. She has been super hilarious lately. I told Josh she knows that little baby is getting closer to being here. She sits with him a lot now instead of me. Everytime she lays across my lap/belly, the baby kicks her. HAHA! She turned and looked at my stomach one day! So funny! She just started nudging our hands a few weeks ago... like "hey don't stop petting me people" haha! She cries everytime I bring something home for the baby whether it be clothes, toys, books... she sits pretty waiting on me to give it to her! I have to say "NO Lola, its the babys" she always barks at me and runs off! Jealous? Yea! I think she is going to love her little brother more than anything though! haha! She will probably lick his face off!

Yea, we love this little veeny dawg! =)

*Summer has begun*

First of all, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! So glad I got to spend some time with my dad today and take him out to lunch, it was great! Happy Father's Day to my husband, even though the little man isn't here yet, he's already an amazing dad. =)

June has been a busy month and it's HOT outside folks!!! I suppose it's going to be busy from here until the baby arrives... and then life is changed forever! In a good way of course! So, for the past month we have been working around the house, a lot of outside chores that have needed to be done, fixing stuff that has needed mended for a long time, working on painting the nursery slowly but surely. It's all coming together. One day at a time! We have one more coat of paint to do in the baby's room and then Payton is coming up when she gets back from FL to do some wall murals and quotes in the room. She is so talented and it is going to be so neat and special for her to do the artistic stuff in the nursery. I can NOT wait to see it all put together! Last weekend I took a few classes at the hospital and was veryyyy happy I did! I learned a lot of good things to do! I always hear what everyone else has done but I wanted to hear it from the nurses. Of course, I won't always do what they say... as far as breast feeding. I know once my little guy gets here, my motherly instincts will kick in! I will know what's best for him! I got to hear a new and young peditrician come and talk to us. I really enjoyed him and liked what he had to say and loved his personality, he also does internal meds, so he could be me and Josh's family doctor too! We don't have a doctor now, so it all works out perfect! I think the Teff's may use him too, so that will be good!

Josh and I went to the "child birth education" class yesterday. This made my third class lol! I was a bit bored at this one, but we did get to take a tour, know what was going to happen and Josh got to see what all was going on. Having our first baby, YES, we are nervous. So this made both of us feel at ease about everything. We can go into this and enjoy it all now. =) Well, as much as possible! Nothing will take away my anxiety about the actual birth! ha! Josh says its all mental! I have two more months to get my mind right then! LOL! I ain't gonna lie, I'm scared! haha!

I also went and registered at Target and Toys-R-US. Christie and Madley went with me, thank goodness! I would have been lost on all the things I "need"! ha! We had a great time... geez, things sure have changed since Payton was a baby. I didn't know what half of that stuff was! I still have Blessed Baby and Wal Mart to register at before my first shower! Very exciting!

So I know I have talked about our chickens some, but let me touch base on them haha! We love having them (for now anyway)! Josh is very proud of them and has worked on the chicken coop alllll day long today! We have an incubator and have been hatching some eggs, it's so neat to watch. I was never around chickens when I was young but Josh was. I can't wait to have some fresh eggs and fresh chicken legs lol! (if I don't get too attached to them as a pet).

Angela had her baby boy this month too!, (Brock Taylor) He's a cutie! I got to spend some time with them last weekend and learned a few things haha. Amanda is next, she will be having her little boy, Townsend in July. CAN'T WAIT! It just makes it sooo much more exciting for the bean to get here too! He's going to have lots and lots of little huntin' buddies! =) YAY for boys!

Ok, so I think thats all.... I have my 28 week checkup this Wed! I can't believe it's already been 7 months! 2 more to go! wow!

Our "teenager" chickens in their new coop Josh built!

Its been a busy but long week.... finally, Josh is back from being outta town and the 3 day weekend has begun! We were thinking about going trout fishing but decided to stay home and relax, well try to anyway, we still have so much to do around here, ALWAYS! Sooo...last weekend we took Payton to the Miranda Lambert concert for her 16 birthday.. we had a blast and Sarah and I got to meet Miranda! It was awesome, she rubbed my belly and we talked about having babies and getting married. She showed us the ring that Blake Shelton got her! She's down to earth and good ole' country girl, I think we could be bff! HAHA! Payton was not a happy camper that you had to be 21 to go back stage and meet her. I felt horrible but this was a once in a lifetime chance for me... haha! Here are some pics from the concert..

This was so awesome!

She put on a great show!

On Wednesday I had my 24 week dr apt. It went pretty good, I had my glucose test, I'm guessing all is good since they have not called me back, I should probably call them to get the results anyway. Thursday was Payton's birthday and she got to drive to school. I cried! ha! She did a great job though. Her party was Friday night and Josh came back home that night too.

Yesterday started our Memorial weekend... we went to the Griffin's to swim and they had a big crawfish boil/cookout! So much fun! Of course I ate too much as always and my back started hurting... I've been blessed with no sickness throughout this pregnancy but oh the back pain is killing me!

We still have today and tomorrow to do some things around the house, work on the babys room and relax! I love long weekends!

Yesterday was an exciting day, we got the baby bedding in and we found a crib! A friend of mine told me there were some cribs sitting outside of the Rock House (love that store) so I had my sister in law go check them out, she sent me a pic, and I said SOLD! ha! It was a verryyyy nice crib from JCPenney and we got a real sweet deal on it! Today I took a piece of the bedding to The Paint Store in VB and they matched the color I was wanting perfect! Josh is working on the baby's room as I sit here and blog lol. We plan on painting this week, I am super pumped! =)

On another note, Josh also brought home 10 baby chicks we are going to raise, and today he brought home some eggs and an incubator (sp), we are going to hatch those ourself! Of course, I've never done anything like this, but he has, so I am excited to see how many really live hahaha! Miss Lola has already tried to get them! She is so hilarious, if you even say "chicken" she runs to the door wanting to go chase them! I sure do love that little dog! Her and the bean are going to be best buds! Speaking of best buds, I went to Amanda's baby shower last Sunday for Townsend and he got a lot of great stuff! I will share some pics....(randomly haha)
