Peace out February!

February hasn't been friendly to us. Just like the end of Dec and first of Jan - sickness has plagued our house. Maybe I bleach too much? That has to be the answer.

3 weeks ago, Jake came down with strep throat. He hasn't had that since he was like 2! It hit him hard too. He was out of school for 4 days. The following week, Will catches it. First time for Will, and it hits him even harder. He was out of school for a week. We took him to the dr on a Sunday and they looked everything over like usual, and said he looked fine, probably a little virus causing the high fever. I said nope, test him for strep. So they did, and dr came back in and was shocked and said I was right. He said his throat wasn't red and his lymph nodes weren't swollen, so anytime we have to go to the dr, they will always have to get a strep test done. But you know as moms, you know your own kids. I could tell it is what Will had b/c Jake had it and he was acting the same way. Very lethargic, not eating, high fever. :( We got scared on Thursday ( 5 days into the antibiotics) because Will was not drinking anything. I thought he was dehydrated. He was just laying on me the entire day and his eyes would close and open real slowly. I was about to head to the ER. He stayed home with Josh on Friday and went back to the dr and they said he was ok, to keep trying liquids. By Friday afternoon he was doing MUCH better. I came home from work and the boys were playing outside b/c it was a nice day.

By the evening, Jake was complaining of a headache and his stomach hurting. I thought it was just the pizza he ate. By 8:30 he was almost in tears. I told Josh "get ready, he will be throwing up anytime."  (Sidenote: I was supposed to be leaving for Hot Springs at 7:30 AM with a few girls to have a day/night away from everything. I did not get to go.) 11:00 Friday night Jake starts puking. He threw up exactly every hour into Saturday morning. I couldn't sleep. The first time he threw up it was everywhere. So we had to change blankets, sheets, clothes, etc. You know the routine when a kid pukes in the bed. So every hour that passes, I was usually awake and ready to get him to the bathroom. I was telling my mom the next day about it and she was laughing (at me) and told me to write all this down. I told her, "I am not sure how I picked Jake up, and got him to the toilet as fast as I did, every time" ... like, when I look back on it, how did I do that? LOL .. poor little guy. All he wanted to do was curl up in a ball and throw up in the floor, on the bathroom rug, anywhere besides the toilet. I think at one point I said "dear goodness JAKE can you not throw up in the toilet!" - I know, mean momma. He couldn't help it. I was tired. I was sick of sickness. At one point he was sitting on a stool and I was rubbing his back and he yelled at me to quit touching him! But the next day we all laughed about it, not that Jake was sick, but how the night went. UGH. Glad that's over and hope it stays away for a very long time.

So, by Sunday, the boys were both in much better moods and feeling good. Each day is getting better and I am thankful they are both feeling well at the same time :)

We hate strep throat!!!!!!!

Valentine's Day mail surprises :)

This kid, I've never seen an ear fetish like he has. It's his "lovey".. his security blanket.

Poor little guy, sooooo sick.

Checking out the cows

"Hey mom, I feel much better!"

So did Jake, he was playing in a dirt pile. He was very happy. :)

We are ready to say goodbye to February and helllloooooooo to March!
