Bring on September!!

I can’t believe this is the last week of August… and weird thing is, it doesn't even feel like August. It was so hot in July and cooled off for August?!?! Weird. Glad though, and happy we got a little rain over the weekend. Bring on September!!! I love the month! I married my best friend, was blessed with the most amazing gift from God..a baby boy, it’s football season, fair time, and deer season begins for the first time this year in Sept!

We had a great weekend at home. We worked around the house (I feel like this is all we do). We were lazy, we ate a lot, we watched movies, etc. Josh and I watched the Hunger Games for the first time. Loved it.

Mom and Russ were out of town all last week so they came out to see Jake for a little while. Mom bought Jake a toy airplane from D.C. and he loves it. Will NOT stop talking about it and how “Kikki got it” haha! Sunday some of Josh’s family came out to visit. We ate like it was church pot-luck haha! Stuffed myself sick! Overall – great, relaxing weekend. September is fixing to get crazy with Josh out of town some, birthdays & parties, anniversaries, people coming out to work at the house, and a trip to Kansas… so a relaxing weekend was what we needed.

Took our usual 4-wheeler ride through the National Forest and seen this big rig! Jake was in awe! ha! They are doing some logging... not sure how I feel about it all.

Our deck is gone! It looks all nasty right now but we have a dozer coming in and then the concrete guys and then it will look awesome! Cannot even begin to explain how excited I am! :)

HA! This is what we did all weekend! Notice Lola right in the middle ;)

This boy loves tractors...

One of my favorite things to do, watch the steam roll out of the mountains after a rain... and yes I love our crooked tree in the yard. I won't let Josh cut it down :)

Hope everyone has a blessed week... and friends who have been sick or with sick kiddos.. hope you all are feeling better SOON!

Happy Thursday :)

What a great past week! Jake and I have spent a lot of time together. He has been so good and so much fun. He is getting those darn two year molars right now and even through all of that he has been a sweet boy.

Rewind to this past weekend. I was off work on Friday and spent the day with Jake. Friday night we took Jake to Kikki’s and headed up the hill to see Miranda Lambert with some of my favorites ;) It was a blast… Miranda never disappoints. Saturday night I went to Altus with the fam’ to eat birthday dinner… it was delish as always. The only mishap was my Nanny’s little grouchy dog biting Jake on the arm. Needless to say, I was one mad momma! Jake is fine. It scared him and he cried pretty hard. I know it hurt him but she barely got him… more like a pinch on the arm. It was in a tender place though, poor kiddo. It’s been a funny story telling event this past week though. We will ask Jake “what happened to your arm?” and he says “her name…toot toot… bite you!” HAHA!!!!!!!! We laugh so hard at him.

Sunday we went to Lowes and ran some other errands, Heather and Cole came up and hung out with us. Jake is attached to his aunt “Heaber” right now. Of course, she is LOVING it… haha! This morning when I dropped him off at Nana’s, he cried for Heaber….I promised him we would see her this weekend. I think he just loves her big new house that has a million rooms to run to and from! ;)

This week we have played at home, watched movies, played cars/trucks, colored, rode 4 wheelers, fished, played in the dirt, etc etc etc..and visited family. I sure do miss him already today! He’s already been saying all new sentences this week…making me laugh. What a cutie!

Have I mentioned I love this weather??? Missing my back porch right now though since Josh tore it down. However; I am beyond excited for our new patios to be built! Ready to enjoy my coffee this fall and buy new fall plants to sit around and look at haha!

So Josh told me last week that he wouldn't be here on Jake's birthday. GAH! That was ok - his birthday falls on opening day of bow season, CC fair, and the big AR- AL game. Mom was going out of town the weekend after, so we had no choice but to plan his party the week before. I sent the invites.. and two days later Josh tells me "they changed my leave date for the weekend of the 8th." REALLY? Frick! I had to tell everyone the party had changed. Geez. WHAT an ordeal. We are having his party the week after his actual birthday now. Mom doesn't have to leave for her trip until that Sunday. WHEW. Plus, I got a few texts yesterday that the new date worked better for other people and they get to come now! Yay! Blessing in disguise I would say.

Randm: I am SO stoked for Big Brother tonight!

This weekend we are staying around the house to work on projects. Low key = I like!
Have a good one my friends!

Randoms about Jake :)

Not a lot going on with us... same ole same. I just want to jot down some things Jake has been doing/saying… he seriously cracks me up. I know all moms think their kids are the funniest, which they should think that but really… Jake is such a ham, sometimes I don’t know where he comes up with things. I know he is going to get funnier as he gets older. I can’t wait to watch him grow into this funny little boy whom everyone loves. I mean, he already is that little guy but I love watching him do new things everyday and become this little PERSON. I know that sounds funny but I always just consider him a “baby” and he is really becoming his own little person.

I can already tell he has THE best personality. I am sooo glad too. He is so full of life. Never walks anywhere, runs. Smiles smirky little grins at everyone. Talks to everyone he comes across. Waves at everyone.  He says “HI” to everyone… for example, we have a lot of different people in and out of our house giving us quotes on work and remodeling things for us right now. When Jake sees a man, that’s exactly what he calls him... “Hi Man” with a very serious look about him. When they leave he says “Man go”? with his little hands up in the air.

He has also wanted to watch a lot of movies lately. He will say “I wanna watch Benji/Nemo/Barney” whatever he wants to watch at the time. He melts my heart.  I need to get him some more movies. He is not interested in a lot of Disney ones that I thought he would be. He likes movies like Shrek HAHA! Still loves to read. We read all the time. Need more books too! His birthday is coming up and I have a whole list of stuff I wanna get him!

He loves when I tell him I have a surprise for him. He loves when I tell him he is getting to see someone special… he will repeat “I wanna see ____” (and he doesn’t forget it.. he will remind me of who we are supposed to be visiting after his naps). He has the sweetest little BIG heart… but also has the biggest temper HA! He will walk up to me and say “I wanna hug” (and hug me so tight). When he is mad at me he tries to either slap me, throws himself on the ground and kicks (lovely), or pushes me away and says “Go ON momma” or “GET momma” (while pushing me out of the room). < This last one CRACKS me up and it’s hard for me to get onto him at this point. So hard! Don’t get me wrong… this little guy gets his fair share of spats on the leg! He has been laughing at me some… :/

When we pull up to Wal-Mart he says “Wa-mart” HA! He also knows where the toy section is. (Have I already blogged about this? I think so). In the mornings when I take him to his Nana’s, he starts grabbing certain toys and saying “I wanna take IT”. This morning I walked in to say good morning and first thing he said was “My neck hurts” (while grabbing his neck) HA! (not funny.. but is) … where and how did he learn how to tell me what hurts? He is growing up so fast!

He absolutely loves loves loves others kids. When we left the water park a few weekends ago, Jake went home and told his daddy “I swimmin’… and kidths” (lisp) LOL! He was telling his daddy he seen a lot of kids. So sweet. He always wants to play with other kiddos, no matter what. He shares pretty well too. I always say  “he’s a lover, not a fighter”.  Very true… for now anyway HAHA!

When Josh or anyone is talking to me I always reply with “yea”… so they know I am listening… well Jake has now been saying “Yeaaaa” to everything we say to him. It’s hilarious. When Josh and I are talking about something, Jake sits there real serious, listening to us and will chime in and say “yea..” like he knows exactly what we are saying. We laugh so hard. He has also wanted to shake hands. He will say “shake hands momma”. When he does, he will say “how you doin momma”. LOL! He really likes to shake Lola’s “paw” and ask her how she’s doin’ the most…haha! Best little friends! What else… oh every time we get in the car he wants to listen to his cd.. which he calls “Round n Round” (The wheels on the bus go round and round). Any time he hears a song he really likes he smiles and nods his head and says “I like this one”. HA!

OK... so I just had to share all of these little random things… even if it’s for my own benefit to look back on! My heart is overwhelmed with love for this sweet, funny, little boy of mine. I am sooo blessed.  I really can’t believe he will be TWO a month from today! I’m a little sad that Josh will be out of town on that day… we just found out :/ .. we may be having his party earlier! My mom will be out of town the week after his bday! Gosh! September is a busy month! I’m excited for it to be here though. So ready for football and the fair!
I’m super excited for this weekend. Friday Payton moves into her dorm and Friday night is the Taste of Country Music Festival feat Miranda Lambert, Pistol Annies, Randy Houser, and more… STOKED! Even more excited it may be cooler weather! I was worried about sweating to death if it was going to be 110 outside! Saturday night is dinner at Nanny’s! Always a good time! Then painting and staining and tearing stuff down at the house the rest of the weekend.

This is how he sits and watches movies :)

Happy little guy!

Such a sweetheart!

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!

A blog in pictures...

I know I have uploaded this picture already - but I entered this one in the Kutest Kids Contest :) Josh laughs at me because I am always entering contests... maybe one day I will win!

Pretty sure he is looking like his momma in these two pics.. which makes me happy happy happy! Ok - he looks like his dad a lot. I know.

:) Dimples! He gets it from his moooommmmaa! haha

Play-date with Mr T!

Girls pool party - thanks for hosting Melinda! Such a fun night!

Love this girl like my sister!

My sweet momma!

My very sweet friend Angela and I! love her to pieces!

I've mentioned before we are doing some work on our house... we have a garage that was never finished... so we are redoing it and took out the wall and are fixing to add the door! This is the door we have picked out below! We drove through a neighborhood in Fort Smith and picked out this door. I'm sure people thought we were casing their homes!

love the wood on this

So excited to see my car finally INSIDE the garage. We still need the door, acid staining the floor, putting up sheet rock on one side, & making a new "laundry room/mudroom". Exciting!

This was a day at the water park a few weeks ago.. can't remember if I uploaded this pic!? So sweet of Jake and Kate :)

I know this is blurry... but he is so funny. He had to have his dinosaur eat with him. He is feeding him here and cracking me up.

That's all for now. I didn't feel like writing a lot. Just sharing some pics over the last couple of weeks.
Have a great week!
