Back to work...

Had a great 3 day weekend….. Spent time with Jake, friends, and family. What more could I ask for!

Today is Jake's 6 month checkup. We have shots and I dread it. I am really curious to see how much my little chunk weighs. I know he is breaking my back, that's for sure! The kid is crazy too, he is trying to jump out of our arms now. He just about fell off the kitchen counter in his bumbo this morning. GIVE ME A HEART-ATTACK! Josh caught him in mid-air. No more sitting on the counters or leaving him unattended. He must be strapped in at all times... b/c he fell out of his swing Friday. Yes, I am bad mom! He didn't cry or anything. Just looked at me like "thanks a lot woman". I think he is going to be pretty tough! I know he has scared me more in the past few days than I have ever been in my life! I guess he is preparing me for the rest of his life... he is a boy and he will be doing wild-boy stuff! I better learn to deal with it. =)

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Even though I didn’t wear green or dress Jake in green (oops) Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone! Today is my Friday and I couldn’t be more happy! I plan on spending lots of time with Jake tomorrow and trying to clean up the house a little before the weekend! We may try to go watch Aunt PEA’s ballgame too. I wish the sun would come out like the weather said it would! ERRR!

I took some pics of Jake sitting in my lap to show off all his scratches. He is definitely all boy. I just cut his nails like a day ago and he still manages to have clawed himself! He has them on his nose, ears, and legs. HA!

*Birthdays*

Yesterday was my 28th birthday… today is Jake’s ½ year old birthday! Ha! 6 months today!

I had a wonderful birthday –despite the weather and it being MONDAY! I still had a great day… showered with many birthday wishes, flowers from Jake, and gifts from parents and Josh. I am a very blessed girl. My birthday partyin’ isn’t over yet… ha! I am riding 4 wheelers Saturday with some good friends and Sunday is dinner at my Nanny’s! Yes!

Today my sweet, sweet Jake is 6 months old, I seriously cannot believe it. He is growing up so fast and I wish I could make it slow down. It actually makes me sad. However; I am excited that he is getting big and a lot of fun! He is interacting with us now and loves to laugh and play. He loves Lola so much that he shakes and squeals when she walks by! Its pretty dang cute. He is getting up on all 4’s and rocking back and forth, he is just days away from crawling! He is sitting up on his own for a minute, then falls over. I think he just likes to roll around and try to crawl more than sit up! ha! When he is sitting with his daddy but wants me, he screams out of nowhere and cries! Ha! He only does this with me though. He LOOOVES bath time. He seriously tried to swim last night I think… on his belly and kicking his legs and splashing his arms. So so so funny! He splashes so much it chokes him b/c he swallows so much water but he just looks up at me with red, watery eyes and smiles and keeps on splashing! =)

I could go on and on about how big he is getting and what all he is doing. Jake is the light of mine and Josh’s life. We love that little boy so much it hurts! I have tears in my eyes just sitting here typing this and thinking of what a wonderful blessing he is in our life. I can’t imagine life w/o him now!

Happy Spring Everyone!

Yessss, we've started baby food!

Mr. Jake is a hungry, growing boy… so we have decided to start baby food early. ;) Just by a couple of weeks anyway. I could tell his bottles were not satisfying him….and he was gobbling up his oatmeal so fast… he looked like a baby bird with his little mouth open waiting for another bite! So funny! We gave him carrots last night. He never made a weird face or anything, just opened his mouth real big waiting on the next bite and if I wasn’t fast enough he grunts and yells at me some. HA! He is one funny boy!

Poor Josh has been sick for it seems like 3 weeks now. I think everyone is sick from this crazy weather. Now the trees are blooming and allergies are kicking in! YUCK! I hope I don’t start feeling bad. Momma’s can’t get sick! =)

I can’t believe it’s March already! We have a lot going on this month. Jake turns 6 months, which means more shots. BOO! It’s my birthday month! Woohoo! (This means lots of good dinners and fun times). Jake is getting his 6 month pictures made at the end of March, let’s pray he is sitting up on his own by then! He is almost there! He is almost crawling too! He’s been up on his hands and knees a few times but always face plants on to the floor!

Josh has been working a lot outside! Getting ready for spring weather, which btw- where is it?! Sick of the cold! We are fixing to start on a shop building too! Lots and lots of things going on!

Also- wanna give a shout out to Alma Boys and Girls bball teams! WOOHOO!
