Weekends are precious...

Why do weekends go by SO fast and the work week drags slower than ever? It's not fair. Weekends are precious because I am with my favorites all day :)

 

 

Me and Jake had a Saturday morning date....

 

We went to Lowe's "Build and Grow"

Building a fire truck... and I messed it up, go figure. Being the amazing builder that I am, ha! We had to start over. Sorry dude.

He got it finished and was very proud. ;) Next month is a spooky birdhouse!

Then it was off to the cabin... they paved to Happy Hollow, I am stoked!

These boys play until sunset - they love it :)

It may not be much to some, but this is where our heart is...

I posted this on FB - my uncle made this for Jake when he turned 2. I have a pic of Jake sitting at it when he was about Will's size with his little feet dangling to the floor. I love it that there are TWO boys sitting here now. This table is my favorite! :)

I love these words! Josh is my very best friend. He makes me the happiest girl. He makes me laugh. He lets me tell him anything and everything without judging. He lets me cry, whine, and complain. He is my rock when I am weak... and vice versa. We make a good team. We lean on each other during rough times. We never hold grudges when we are mad. Our marriage is not perfect but like this saying quotes "a love that never dilutes - even when the waters get deep, and dark" ...

I have a 5 year old!

September 15, 2015 Jake turned 5.

 

How is it possible that I have a 5 year old? I literally feel like he was just born yesterday. I know every mom has those feelings. Why does time go so fast? :(

 

I can't say enough how proud I am of Jake. I don't want to be the "braggy" parent and I don't mean to be, but my child amazes me most of the time. He is very ornery too though, and has trouble listening LOL! But he is sooooo sweet. His teachers and others brag on him, which make me even more proud of him for being so kind to others.

 

He was definitely jealous of Will when we brought him home but has never once been mean to him. He has learned how to be the best big brother ever. He loves Will like no other and misses him when he stays with grandparents and Will stays home. He plays with him and makes him laugh, he protects him, he shares (well sometimes lol) ... but it just makes my heart explode watching them together. Yes, they already fight, and Will is very mean, LOL.. but most of the time they get along. If Will gets hurt, Jake is very upset. If Will gets in trouble, Jake is upset. Sweet, tender hearted boy.

 

So, to my sweet Jake;

 

Happy Birthday baby! A WHOLE HAND! #5! You have no idea how much momma loves you. You stole my heart the first time I heard yours beat. You changed my world forever, for the best. Every year, you grow up too fast. You seem older than 5. You speak so well, and carry on adult conversations. You care, and give, and love with a heart bigger than most adults. I don't want to rush your life, I want you to stay little... but I can already see BIG plans for your future. God is going to use you in amazing ways. You are so smart, sometimes I wonder where you got it LOL! I pray you always love to learn and love to read. You are eager to do things by yourself. You want to do them and want me to praise you ..."mom I want you to see I already brushed my teeth and tell me thanks because you didn't have to ask me to" ... haha! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH JAKE! Keep learning, loving, caring, and giving as BIG as you do. You will go far in life!

Back-2-School & Stuff

 

 

First of all - it's been a crazy summer. A "not-so-fun" summer... but we made it through. My poor little Will boy has been sick since the first of May. Ear infections x 4 and hand, foot, mouth virus x 2!!! Gotta love daycares! So, we haven't done much and we are all going stir crazy. Will finally got tubes on August 13th and you can already see a huge difference in him. I'm so glad they are helping. Bless his little heart.

 

Jake started back to Pre-K - his LAST year in Pre-K :) We are at a new school this year and it was a VERY TOUGH decision because we love love love First Place Academy. However; since Josh's work schedule changed, it was going to be extremely tough on me taking two kids, two different places everyday and wouldn't be able to pick him up by 4:00. Sad momma. BUT we've prayed about this and we are excited to see what Compass Academy has in store for Jake! He's starting to love his class, which is full of ALL boys! I can't believe we have no girls lol! Jake said he was glad. haha!
